Boathouse

The Windsor Boys' School Boat Club is one of the leading junior sculling centres in the UK. To ensure its continual development at the forefront of junior sculling, an exciting new project is in progress to develop a new boathouse to include an 8 man sculling tank.

The current boathouse is by far and away the most limiting factor affecting the club, with the boathouse full beyond capacity with no room for expansion. More than 80 boys currently row out of the school and to ensure that the club continues to push forward with the development of young aspiring athletes, this boathouse constraint needs to be addressed.

The new boat house proposal aims to provide significantly improved boat storage facilities, and modern facilities including male and female changing facilities. This will allow the contnual development of dry and wet start rowing opportunities in the local area.

However, the most exciting part of the design is the inclusion of an 8 man sculling tank that will provide an exceptional training environment for all levels of participation, from beginner to high performance. With many local clubs and schools supporting the scheme, as well as a high profile endorsement by GB Rowing, the Windsor Boys' School Boat House is happening and will provide an outstanding facility for the school, the local community and performance athletes alike!
